Love is in the air,
and what better way or day is it to show your partner the token of appreciation on Valentine’s Day. I worked with a woman client, but her significant other reached out to me and wanted to surprise her on that special day with a full look and night planned out by him. Her boyfriend got a hold of me to start planning a special yet surprising Valentine’s Day. He is going to propose to her during their valentine’s day weekend gateway - which is extremely amazing to hear, and he wanted to invite me to assist him in making this day very special for his lady love. So, he wanted to create a picture-perfect moment for his soon-to-be wife. I accepted the gig because what stylist wouldn’t want to be a part of this special moment, helping someone look fabulous. I already had her profile active and her info fresh, so I thought it would be great to share with you the three dress silhouette drawings that best suited my female client for her surprise valentine’s outing. Let’s get into some backstory of this scenario.

What Makes Your Girlfriend physically attractive?
The client’s boyfriend stated: “ she loves to show off her shoulders and arms since she works out and loves to show them off. But her long legs are incredible to me….”
After asking about the budget of this project, I went on to her profile and analyzed options for her based on her body shape. I know he mentioned what he loved about her, but I also wanted her to feel sexy and feminine in what she was wore on this romantic weekend. I want to ensure that the dress options are equally beautiful in their ways. I’ve been exercising and exploring the design world, starting with garment restyling, but here are my fashion illustrations of the final selections and why they were selected for this occasion.
KEYNOTE: Inverted triangle body shapes have broader shoulders compared to their hips. With that identified, you should emphasize your attention to your body's lower half.
DRESS IDEA # 1
For inverted triangles, my ultimate go-to design is the ‘Fit and flare,’ but I like to call it ‘Fit & Flirty.’ This design was the first choice because my client loves to show off her arms, and her soon-to-be husband loves her legs. The fit and flare corset skirt design is a perfect marriage for both of their desired requests, and this silhouette goes hand and hand with an inverted triangle body shape. The reason it is an excellent selection for this body shape is that your goal for this body shape should be to provide balance with an entire bottom (in the case of a skirt), so the attention is not so directed to your wide shoulders.
To finish off this look, I suggested a Trapeze coat. Why did I select this coat design for this body shape? A trapeze coat has no waistline or an empire waist, and the draping fabric draws attention downward, which is what you want if you are an inverted triangle.

Next up, the outfit idea I have for my client’s boyfriend to choose from is the ‘Asymmetrical neckline bodysuit paired with High Slit Rouched Skirt.’ I pieced this particular look together because it wasn’t just Valentine’s Day for them; he was proposing to her. I wanted to ensure that I provided them with the best options so she could look back and be happy about how she looked. With their desired requests as a top priority, the one-shoulder bodysuit allows her to show off her arms, and this detailed skirt has the legs showing enough for her boyfriend to be satisfied.
To finish this, look off; we went with the faux fur shawl.

Lastly, we have the timeless silhouette, which is the Spaghetti-Strap Cowl-Neck Side-Slit Silk Sheath Dress. No matter what age you are or what day it is, this dress silhouette will always go. Although this dress does not show her legs, he does enjoy seeing her in these types.
The spaghetti-strap cowl-neck slit silk sheath dress is a classic and timeless silhouette that flatters any body type. The cowl neckline adds a touch of elegance and femininity to the dress, while the sheath dress graces over her frame flatters any body shape. The slit in the dress adds a hint of sexiness while still maintaining a sophisticated look. The silk fabric drapes beautifully on the body and provides a luxurious feel.
To finish this, look off; we went with the faux fur shawl as well.
